The Quiet of New Snow
The title says everything. I wake up into pre-dawn darkness on these cold winter mornings a few miles from Kuerners. My drive there takes me through deep wooded snow covered hills and valleys. An old country shortcut by-passing the bigger roads. No one has disturbed the newly fallen snow and I stop in the driveway, leaving just enough room for Karl to pass when he comes to feed the animals. The serenity of this quiet snow is heavenly. Painting in these conditions in indescribably peaceful.— Eddie Flotte
