A Wish List

I first met George at Grassy Sound the morning I painted this. He appeared beside me proclaiming that I was, in fact, an artist. He welcomed me to everything that was his and granted me access to every corner of his property. According to his neighbors, he could be thought of as cantankerous. I know him as generous, warm, funny and cantankerous, ...in the most lovable of ways. He always makes me smile. His overwhelming to-do list of repairs grows with every storm. His eyes shine with wisdom and mischief, his clothes and manners make me believe that he has stepped through the veil of a time long, long ago.
