Carmen's Shoe Repair by Eddie Flotte
Carmen's Shoe Repair
Bette brought her penny loafers and Barbara brought her saddle shoes. A pair for school and a pair for church. Pat wore Keds and Nancy wore flats. Church bells ring down the avenue from Our Mother of Consolation. Carmen works with glue and leather, heavy thread and pungent dye. As long as there are Catholics in Chestnut hill, shoes will need repair. Protestants too I guess.— Eddie Flotte
