It seemed pretty clear that most of the activity on Kuerner's farm ran in and out of this back door. The bell I am guessing was a dinner bell to signal that dinner was ready to the far corners of the farm. I guess any time you heard the bell it sent the message to head home now.— Eddie Flotte
