Stone Chimney At Kuerner's
During WWII the Kuerner's hosted daily German war prisoners who would gladly come and work on their farm, especially because the Kuerner's are very German themselves so I am sure the prisoners felt more at home there than other places. Much of the beautiful stone work around the farm house was done by these prisoners. This chimney is such an example. Many of Mr. Kuerner's stories would start with.... "I was here or there working with the prisoners"...The chimney has 1945 cut into a stone up toward the top.— Eddie Flotte
