Up The Driveway To Kuerner's Barn
All during the summer of 2012, I was able to get to Kuerner's farm before the sun came up. Deer would still be down around the pond and fog would always still be settled in down low. I remember working as fast as I could to catch that foggy feeling in the morning. At first all of the upper doors on the barn were just rectangles I carefully placed in the overall layout. After a while I saw Mr. Kuerner either standing on his hay filled truck pulling hay out or kneeling in the open doorway throwing hay down. Other times he would talk to me from up there through the open door planning our next portrait together. Once I saw the doors functioning as they do, they became much more important.— Eddie Flotte
