Mr Kuerner on Kuerner's Hill

Karl Kuerner Jr. sat for me five or six times during my 3 month visit to his farm during the summer of 2012. Here he is standing in the foreground. Behind him is "Kuerner's Hill." This hill has been portrayed many, many times and in many different ways, so beautifully, by Andrew Wyeth and other artists who have made their way there to experience "Kuerner's Farm" firsthand.

In my short and wonder-filled time there, I tried to catch what I could of the key elements that made this haunting place such a source of inspiration for Wyeth and others.
