Crabbing on the Egg Harbor River
I love this painting and this scene. When we were kids my father and grand parents used to take us here to go crabbing every summer. We would rent a row boat and spend the day out on the water with a cooler full of sandwiches, tastycakes, peanutbutter crackers and cokes. Fantastic! I was so happy to find it was still there when I started going to the shore as a teen ager. I've gone back many times to paint it. Last time I was there it was gone. In it's place was a new restaurant. Very typical. I have to catch these things while I can. Sooner or later they all disappear.
