Bruce Springsteen's House Freehold, NJ
I had the pleasure and the time one year while visiting back home to go walking in the footsteps of Bruce Sprinsteen in search of some of the places imortalized in his songs. In Freehold they have a map of houses he lived in growing up. This is one which I painted one cold Autumn morning. Many of the people passing by didn't know it ws once the home of such a legend. Many did. I walked the streets of Freehold to find many links to the stories I'd heard in his songs. Obviously, like anyone with a heart who grew up back there, his songs were the sound track to my life. Later that day I went to Asbury Park to paint what was left at the time of the Casino, which I heard about in the song The Fourth of July (Sandy) and then I had my future told by Madam Marie.
