Sunset on Beeler's
The sun slowly setting offers a gradually moving shadow cast obliquely under Beeler's porch. I take my time protected by the shade of Kirlin's tiny blue bungalow. The tide has come in just enough to show me the reflections in the crick that winds it's path along the crooked wooden walkway. Pilings dot the grassy shore where houses once stood with no one to reclaim them after each winters attack until finally they were completely washed away. Beeler's has had Kirlin. He fights relentlessly to keep it standing and above the mud.— Eddie Flotte
