Dog House And Dinner Bell
The area around the back door is my favorite on the farm. It seems to hold the most memories and personality that to me is that of the Kuerners. It was important to me to get the dog house in when I had the chance. Here I focused on it as an important part of the painting. I've heard that the Kuerner's had a few German shepards over the years and that they were always named Nell. The dinner bell is also in this painting just outside of the back door up on a white post. In the earlier years of the farm it was much, much bigger and you can imagine hearing the distant sound of the bell calling you to dinner.— Eddie Flotte
