Dairy Farm with Roosters
For many years, the Haleakala dairy was my utopia. I could park by it in Olinda and always find a new way to see it and a new thing to paint. It was like I had struck gold. ...an endless supply of inspiration. I guess if I tried, I could understand how the powers that be prefer to knock these places down. I guess it is the money or the insurance costs... what-ever! To me they are priceless and do so, so much for the collective soul, that no amount of money is worth pushing them aside.
Here I included the roosters from a page of roosters I'd drawn one day while out walking. The little slice of Haleakala peeking out of the clouds was always there to be included in some clever stage of cloud cover.
