My mother with her family grew up in Chestnut Hill ... "the hill" they call it.   It is nice.   At this point passing through Flourtown and Erdenheim on Bethlehem Pike is right where you start to feel like you are there.   We used to go see the the neighborhoods where they grew up and walk in Pastorious and Fairmount Park.   The trolly cars ran down Germantown Pike.   The street was paved in cobble stone.   That's what I think of when I see this painting.   It's the gateway
