![]() Like a lot of Montgomery County families, we used to go up to Green Lane Park for pic-nics. A few times we went west up route 73 to 29 and on to Green Lane. We'd go through Skippack. It was just an old remote country town at the time ... too remote to need preserving. I always saw it as a wonderful leg of the trip. When I got older and got a license I went there often ... it was a long adventure. It was by then getting to be a destination for people who also were clinging to the past like I was. People in Skippack knew what they had and began to preserve it. Anymore I go through it so often that if I'm not paying attention I go through it without realizing it. I enjoyed the time I spent painting this piece. The Halloween decorations attracted me to this scene. I look forward to working there again. available in print upon request GO BACK |
